2018 stage 2 rebuilt title RS3 trading in for $29k? Offers?

UPDATE-I had the car in the shop and had them install new hydro tubes in the Mechatronic unit. We found a couple of the tubes had torn o-rings so this was causing the trans hard shift on cold start. Its much better now but still needs to be warmed up before it will shift into drive smoothly so next will be clutches.


I bought this car for my wife as a second car but she is having second thoughts on driving a RS3 as a daily driver. The car has 101k miles on it and on cold start has a clunk going into drive but once it is warm it shifts into drive normal with no clunk or hesitation. The damage that caused the salvage title was minimal with no frame damage or deployed airbags. Bumper, hood, and fender were replaced. I put new motor and trans mounts in and did a full trans,diff, and haldex service on it. The car has CTS intake, CTS FMIC, IA downpipe and mid pipes, unitronic port injectors, and Unitronic stage 2 ecu and tcu software. It’s a lot of car for the money and would be perfect for someone wanting to do a build on a budget.

I'm up near traverse city Michigan. The car was involved in a front end collision, no airbags deployed and no frame damage. Bumper cover, headlight, drivers side fender and hood were replaced with used parts by previous owner.

So the clunking issue was never resolved? Just trying to figure out if there’s a possibility for it to need a new trans. Good deal nevertheless

I did a DSG service and adaptation. It helped a little but that first engagement when cold is rough unless you let it run and warm up for 10-15 minutes. After that it is normal and doesn't do it again until the next cold start. I am gonna put new clutches and hydro tubes in if it doesn't sell and see if that fixes it.
