I hit a speed bump the other day and snapped my sway bar links both sides.
Ordered new ones and put them on tonight.
On the driver's side there was some kind of actuator or sensor thingy hanging down very close the sway bar link.
It looks like it was connected to something but half its clamp is missing. sorry forgot to grab a pic.
I've had trouble shifting lately and thought just maybe that's my issue.
I have no idea what it's for or where to reconnect it.
I'm really hoping it has something to do with my shift linkage.
    I'll grab a pic tomorrow.

I've tried searching but have no idea what it's called or what it's for.

Thanks in advance for the help.

That snaps onto the control arm. Its for the auto leveling feature for the headlights.

As far as the shifting goes, pull the center shifter trim and the insulation under that. There are 2 allen bolts that are the adjusters for this shift linkage. One comes loose on a lot of the b6/b7 manuals. Check those and make sure they are tight. Also make sure the clutch is bled properly. Over time you may develop a tiny tiny leak in the slave cyl. that allows some air into the system(or moisture). Air compresses where hydraulic fluid does not
