S5 B8 2007 Manual - Loose shifter, wheres the problem?

Hello guys, so i have a 2007 S5 Manual (German Model). Sadly the shifter is really wobbly, its possible to shift normally into the gates, but it simply does not FEEL right, its not sharp but really wobbly.

Does someone know if i need new bearings, or if its a thing of adjusting and tightening? I also wondered if i should get the JHM Shortshifter, but im not sure if i need to remove the engine and gearbox for that?

The bolt is the hinge at the base of the shifter is likely the culprit: https://youtube.com/shorts/uOngQWHeLlk?feature=share

I installed JXB billet shift plate, JXB solid shift linkage, and ECS Drivetrain insert kit and the shifter slop has been completely eliminated. Video replacing shifter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce9nts4v_jI
Definitely worth the time and effort even if you just get JXB or JHM short shifter.

You might also want to check the actual shifter itself for a worn out bushing. The stock shifter uses a large plastic bushing that can wear out over time and cause a really sloppy feel.
