    Help! Rock chip!

8,000 miles later I finally got a couple of rock chips on the passenger side door. Has anyone used the touch up paint/clear coat pen from Express Paint?

Or should I just leave it alone? It’s pretty small that I have to look really hard just to see it, but it annoys me to know it’s there. Please help me decide!

Not sure how big your rock chip is but I use Dr. ColorChip. I have a brilliant black color A3 and they have that color matched. I recently touched up a bunch of micro rock chips on my hood the other day and it works great. Go check out their site and see if they have your color.

Audi/VW aren't exactly known for having the most durable paint. If you made it 8k miles and just got your first rock chip you should consider yourself lucky! At about 60k miles my A3 looks like I drove it through a meteoroid cluster.

The paint correction pens work fine. You can even ask your dealer if they have one that matches. I know I have a genuine Audi repair pen that I used before I finally gave up.

Haha, thank you! Yes, I've noticed the paint is extremely brittle. Good thing I PFF'ed the full hood otherwise I'm sure there would've been more.

Man, that sucks. I feel your pain.
I bought my car and I scheduled to have it PPF'd but had to wait a week to get the car in the shop. Just in that week, and after only driving the car 300 miles, the front hood managed to get a rock chip about the same size as yours. So angry about that lol. At least I won't have to worry about rock chips anymore.

Touch it up.. not hard to do.. and if you your handy, you can lightly sand it (fine grit-2000-3000 sandpaper) and polish it to where you’d be hard pressed to find it…
