Guy I sold my B7 to moved to SD. Took it for an oil change at some shop, it came back leaking like a sieve. Their reaction? He needs 3 new seals.....on a car that didn't leak a drop before the oil change.

So anyone know a good indy Audi shop in San Diego?

I recently bought an 2010 A4 Avant from a dealer who specializes in Audi & VW for many years. He gets all the work done at "Advanced Automotive Care" in Santee. The owner and master technician is Ed Danow. It's kinda far from my home, but I'm considering this shop.

    Definitely Pure

829Auto in Chula Vista is another good option. Newer shop, but is an APR dealer. The owner owns and works on VW's all day long.

Just thought I'd close the loop on this. My buyer who "needed" 3 new seals because he was hemorrhaging after an oil change? Ended up going to Pure Motorsports. The first shop had forgotten the crush washer. So new oil + crush washer (no new filter) and he's on the road. I'll bet that first shop makes a lot of money off soccer moms by advising all kinds of un-needed crap.

Glad to hear it got sorted.

That’s pretty insane if the first shop setup that scam. I’m all for naming names.

I am too. My buyer is a "live and let live" kinda guy so he didn't tell me the name of the shop.

I'm not. I'm really kind of a prick.

Thank you for circling back on this. Like I said I am a new owner of a 2010 Avant, here is my intro, not sure if people look on the "Owner Checkin" thread: https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...1#post14951278

I bought if from a local dealer, very highly rated, but it only came with the CarFax and receipts for the work the dealer had done to bring it up to saleable level. So it needs a more comprehensive inspection and a new baseline on various things like fluids. Doesn't need any immediate repairs, but I'll be taking it to Pure Motorsports for oil change, brake fluid flush, etc.
