right/ left rear indicator lights (sides) Error - 2018 Audi S7

A few days ago, I started getting an error code on the dash regarding my right rear light. Upon inspection, the light was working, but I went ahead and ordered LED replacement bulbs even though these were not LED's to begin with. I replaced both sides, turned on the car and the lights work just fine, however the dash throws an error on both sides now, which is annoying. Is there anyway to correct this through VCDS? Or do I need to order the OEM non-LED version as the only way to correct this?

This might depend on the brand of replacement LED. Other AZ threads imply that if the replacement LED is not properly engineered, an error will occur.

Many have gone into VCDS and coded the marker lights off and no longer worry about them. I have seen shops online that you can get body colored inserts to eliminate the marker completely once coded off.

Or get original style bulbs and change them out. Not really sure you are saving much of any power with LEDs in those locations and I am not really sure it would be brighter or dimmer than normal stock type bulb.

Probably depends on several factors. I replaced my back up and fog bulbs with LEDs from an AZ sponsor and they are somewhat brighter than OEM.

I do know that LED's use substantially less power, so maybe your car is seeing that theres less power than usual and assuming a light is out?

I believe some of you were correct in that the LED gives uses less power, so the draw wasn’t there. I went ahead and ordered OEM replacements and swapped them out, which has since cleared this error and it hasn’t represented itself since.

I have aftermarket LEDs purchased from AZ sponsor deAutoLED with no error codes.

I didn't know you could code out the side markers in VCDS. Do you have instructions?

Never done it as they don't bother me but the VDCS cheat thread covers it.
