Aluminum uprights & RS4 part question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First one should hopefully be a quick and easy one to answer! Anyone have the bolt torque specs for the triple square bolts on early style aluminum uprights for bolting the wheel bearing housing into the uprights? Bentley (at least my copy) only shows steel front uprights so nothing regarding the bolt in bearings.

Second question. Anyone know where I can buy a few B5 RS4 throttle body to intake manifold gaskets? Part is 078133073N. I believe discontinued by Audi but not 100% on that. ECS shows an aftermarket brand selling this but not available until September. Aftermarket works for me if that's all that's available, just need the part in some form! Haven't seen these on THE's site either, though I will put the question to them.

Thanks! Pic shows the bolts I'm asking about if there was any question.20230610_185621.jpg

Wonder if they're just on backorder everywhere. Same as ECS pb5 says "sold out".

    FWIW-
I have the Al up-rights on my early 00 S4...
    PS- found the gasket here-

I’ve been waiting for an rs4 gasket from ecs since last august. It says a date they will be in stock but when that day comes, they keep sending me emails saying they still don’t have it and if I’d like to cancel my order. Happened a few times now.

Right on, thank you! Same as the b6 specs I found searching earlier.

I'm working on a b5 bolt torque specs google sheet as I build the avant I'll share at some point down the road. Similar to what others have started, but more.

Yikes, I'll avoid that one! Hate when they do that stuff.

Are they really? I feel kinda dumb if that's the case, cause I've got plenty of these sitting around for an s4 lol. I see the S4 is variant "J" while the RS4 is "N". Coulda sworn this was one of the parts that's different due to the size difference of the throttle bodies. I'll pull one out of the stash and compare in a bit just to double check.

Okay, no the S4 throttle body gasket and RS4 gasket are not the same part. Bolt holes are more spaced out on RS4 gasket and inner diameter is larger on RS4 gasket as expected. I figured maybe it was possible Audi made the S4 gasket oversized, but nope. Neither of these would fit the other.

Here's a side by side (S4 on left) and then the S4 gasket aligned to one bolt hole on the RS4 intake manifold. So I'll have to wait til the RS4 gaskets are in stock somewhere, unfortunately.20230610_225305.jpg20230610_224838.jpg

The Passat TB shares the RS4 part number. As mentioned in this thread and gaskets should be the same... https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...dy-Same-as-RS4

Yeah I was reading this thread linked below earlier and wondering if the gasket from any of these mentioned in the list below (including w8 passat) would then fit the b5 rs4. Sounds like they would as you said since bolt holes are the same too. Thanks! I'll probably order one of these to give a go.

I've never bought from Kleinanzeigen but this guy has lots of stuff: https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzei...19570-223-3688

I looked up the W8 gasket and it is 07D133073A in case you wanted to try it. Doesn't look the same but might still work I guess.

    Upright torque spec is 80Nm + 90degrees.

Aluminum uprights & RS4 part question

    https://m.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/078133073n

Reitsheimer also show they have it - they do lots of engine builds. I’m going to shoot a message to
to someone I know in Austria now and see what he says

Ok, so the Audi # is officially nla even in Europe. But I’ve got 5 aftermarket ones coming along with sone other stuff I’d already ordered.

Mike, I’ll put one in the box for you with the radiator. They are coming from 2 different places but should be with me the same time.

That would be awesome, thanks! I'll try to pick up some spares when the aftermarket ones are back in stock somewhere, but one new one should get me by for now. Let me know when that's all in your hands and I'll send you some extra funds.

Ahh yes, that's like the German Craigslist I think.

I found a pic of that w8 gasket on ecs too. Odd looking but likely would work in a pinch. Thanks for verification on those torque specs.

No worries, we got it sorted. I do see the same when looking at the a4/s4 2.7t etka. My guess would be that diagram is the rare metal tbb you'd see in some of the C5 2.7Ts, but no clue why it shows in the a4/s4 parts. I have most of the separate rs4-specific etka downloaded where you see the "N" part for that gasket.Screenshot_20230611_221629_Brave.jpg
