Oil level warning disabled by dealer. How to re-engage?

When we went to pick up our new to us 2018 S5 from the Volvo dealer we were purchasing it from, the vehicle was reporting the oil was over filled. I told them I wasn't taking the vehicle that way, so they rolled it back into the service department. They brought it out about 30 minutes later said they pulled some oil out. It's now 5 weeks and 5,000 miles later, and the oil level still has not come down from Max. I thought this was really odd that I would not have any oil consumption in 5,000 MI. I finally got an obd11, hooked it up and checked live data, and it shows nine oil history reports, all of which indicate excessive oil. Starting at 135%. I'm hoping that this is 135% of the min max level, and not 135% of the full oil level. But what this indicates to me is that they simply disabled the warning output.

My question now is where is this warning setting turned on/off? I've searched through the engine settings, long coding, and adaptations and I don't see anything related to oil level. Can anybody point me to how to reengage the overfill warning? Is it possible the dealer disconnected a physical sender?

Did you check the dates of the oil history reports showing in the OBD11? Its possible all of them were between the car being PDI and them taking the oil out. Its ok for it to continue showing MAX fill on the car.

I have an 18 S5 and the oil level reads 100% right up to the next service. It's perfectly normal and preferred that the engine isn't consuming oil. I am doing an oil service about every 6k miles for reference but do drive it like an S5 should be driven. I think sometimes after a change it reads slightly low initially and then later it is at the proper full level and stays there. Anyway enjoy the S5, mine has been rock solid reliability wise and always a fun drive.

I have not had any measurable oil consumption between oil changes on either my 2018 S4 or 2021 S4, and I use the factory recommended 10K oil change interval. You really dont want consumption at all (even though Audi discloses that oil consumption may be up to 0.5 quart/600 miles in your owners manual).. Pretty sure there is no way to disable the oil oil fill warning.. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a T40178 dipstick clone -- I paid $11 for this one -- https://a.co/d/eTZ8w6P -- then you can rest assured that the oil level is where it is supposed to be. The setpoint for the chain on that dipstick for the CWGD V6 engine is 76, and then the min level reads at 0 and max level reads at 16 -- DONT use the chart that comes with the dipstick, thats for a different 3.0 V6.

One of the 1st things I ordered for my '23 S5 was a billet dipstick from ECS Tuning. Non-adjustable and made specifically for your specific Audi model and year. Available in polished or black anodized. Complete product information and detailed photographs of the product at the ECS website: https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-part...954ecs01-01~a/

I have no regrets over the purchase of this made in the USA quality dipstick.

No, there is no warning setting to turn on/off and not at all by OBD11 or any other diagnostic tool.
