Now Enabled: US Spec Car Matrix LEDs

I recently had a great experience working with Sam, who enabled the Matrix LED headlights on my US spec RS3. I really wanted the Matrix light functionality and messaged him last year after reading people's experience working with him on the RS6 forum. He was able to figure out the coding recently, and I had him code my car a few weeks ago.

The whole process takes about 45 minutes, and Sam will guide you through each step as he remotes into your car. You'll need a Windows computer and he was able to send me the VAS5054A/VAS6154 loaner cable.

Epic. So this enables the full Euro matrix beam capabilities? Selective beam pattern, etc. Do you mind sharing how much this cost to have done?

How much did you pay for this service?

I contacted him. He said normal price is $750 but he would do it for $500 so pricey but not ridiculous considering on my mk7.5 golf r the headlights alone to do this are $1700 plus the flashing. At this point it seems only a handful of people have the files to do this. At some point it will be more widely available and possibly free but I am looking to pay for it.

If this is now legal in the US and the car already has them, do you think its possible that Audi themselves will activate them with a future update?

Potentially, but I'm impatient and I would rather have the functionality now vs. wait for Audi to enable it. It's been 15 months since it was approved for the US market and still nothing.

Potential. The issue is that each car has to be certified by the dot individually. Also the us defines a slightly different pattern than what Europe defines.
