Alright. Had a 2019 and it was great. Got a deal and got a new one. This one with the same modifications isn’t the same, but more annoying is some of the sounds it makes. It makes a whining sound when upshifting at anything over 20mph. It also has some sort of vibration weird sound when first starting to go from a stop. The whiny noise reminds me of an old car with a bad transmission lol. Anybody having these issues? Mods are simple.
    Jb4
    Bmc filter
    Ecs inlet pipe and hose
    Ecs intercooler.
Does not want to shift hard into second gear which gives you the quickest times also.
It’s done this since new and has 3000 miles now.

Since it is new, bring it to the dealer and properly diagnose the issue(s) under warranty.

Only thing you need to worry about is that JB4. Remove it and hope for the best.

Yea I'd def pull the JB4 first and see what happens. Then prolly go to the dealer if its still doing that. Piggybacks can get weird, I personally am not a fan.

That’s what I’m going to do. I want to tune the car, but no tcu tune is available as of now for my car. Torque limits can make the transmission do all kinds of weird things and it seems this new one is more sensitive to more torque I’m guessing.

Will do. I’m taking it in next week. I talked to my friend who is an audi technician at the dealership and he said they had a new a6 or a8 with the 3.0t motor that had a bad idler pulley. Swapped it out and it was good to go.

i mean anything is possible, but take off the JB4 and see what happens. After that a lot easier to swap a pulley and be sure.

I hear a whine when taking off from standstill in Sport mode and sometimes in Dynamic mode. I was told it's the "mild hybrid system" kicking in

The S4 doesn’t have that. The 3.0t on the A6 and up has that feature

I've found that sound comes from my passenger.

Some interesting information. I disconnected the jb4 last night and took the car for a drive. The noise was still present, but not quite as loud. Today it’s as if the sound is much less than it was. Another thing is my shifts are much crisper by a noticeable amount in any mode and my car idles so much smoother. Before I would feel a slight misfire at idle and that is completely gone. Seems to me the 2022 and 2023 cars are different in some way from previous years and the ecu tcu combination needs to be in harmony more than before.

A good TCU tune on the earlier B9s was instrumental to having really prefect performance. This is why for example the 034 Stage 2 tcu tune is worth it even if you just run Stage 1 ECU. May just need to wait for tunes to come out for the 2023. I've never been a fan of piggy back tunes and such, why I'm still waiting for a tune for my c8 corvette.

    So a quick update.
I have attached 3 draggy runs.
The 3.65 run was on map 5 e30 blend with 93 octane on my 2019 with the same modifications.
The 4.31 run was on map 4 e30 blend the other night with lazy shifts into second gear.
The 4.27 run was today with no jb4 at all. You can see the graph and how much better the second gear shift was also.
So either my jb4 is not working properly or the new car doesn’t like the addition torque transmission wise.
My old car drove amazing with the jb4 and would do 11.8 quarter mile times all day long. The new car feels so balanced and shifts so nice with the jb4 disconnected. Very interesting.
