2016 Audi A6 IE Single Pulley e85 - Breaking Up/Loss of Power in 3rd Gear

I've been having an issue where if i punch the throttle in high RPMs the car will sometimes misfire and stumble causing cylinder deactivation and all bad. The problem is more prevalent when running less than 1/2 tank but it still happens when on a full tank too. The log below looks to me like the lpfp is draining the basket then can't supply enough fuel to the hpfp causing the issue.

Any thoughts?

When i took this log, i launched the car from a stop. 1st felt fine, 2nd felt fine, 3rd gear felt horrible with misfires and CEL & EPC lights coming on.

The car:
2016 Audi A6 3.0T CREC

• IE Single Pulley e85 ECU Tune
• Melen TCU Tune
• IE Upper Pulley
• IE Intake
• CAP Testpipes
• JHM Heat Exchanger

Recent parts thrown at the problem:

• OEM LPFP
• OEM HPFP
• OEM Bypass Valve
• All new delphi coils
• All new NGK BKR8EIX with a .026" gap

Are you running full E85 or blending down to E60? Although IE says the cars can run fine on E85, they should actually be blended down to E60/65 for WOT pulls. This should help with your issue.


It could also be a sign that your supercharger clutch is starting to slip as IEs tune limits torque and first and second gear, so when it hits third gear that's when you will feel it slip and throw the EPC light.

I have been running full e85. I just ordered a new ethanol test kit to check my local pump again and I will try mixing down to E65.

I sent the logs to IE. Damn i love the speed of their replies. Less than 1 hour and 3 replies! They think the LPFP is failing and suggest swapping it out again.

Since i purchased the pump ~3 months ago, i called the Audi dealer and the parts are under warranty. They had me send them the logs and they are going to try and warranty the lpfp. *fingers crossed* Either way they are overnighting one in for me.

I picked up a new LPFP from the audi dealer, installed it and ran new logs. The car had 5/8 tank of e85 for these runs. Felt way better then before.


With my husky ass and a trunk full of crap, dragy claims an 11.96 second 1/4 mile and 3.81 second 0-60.



LPFP only over the same time window. Previous run hit a low fure pressure of of 1.68 bar. Now the lowest it hit was 5.71 bar.
