Hello everyone. My IG is Caco.C6 and now little something about me and my car.

I am from Slovakia - so i am sorry for my language if its not according to standards. My love for Wagons started pretty much when i was a kid. My father got hands on B3 Passat Wagon and i fell in love with it. Learned to drive stick with it and later on it was my car. Unfortunately i crashed it. Later then i got a B5 Passat Wagon. Same red colour. It was pretty much build in everything apart from engine. Wheels, suspension, flares, bumpers, interiour, speakers with sub. Almost everything on the car was replaced. I think original was only engine, shell and some things inside.

Well i sold that one and i knew that this was not a road i wanted to go with another daily driver. You can find a pictures of the old B5 on the IG.
I was looking for a 4x4 wagon for a long time. Then i found this one. So its

A6 C6 2010 so facelift. 3.0 TDI 176kw CDYA engine with a 6 speed Tiptronic and colour is Daytona Grey
Bought October 2021 with 335k on the clock (diesel 3litres can do 500-700k no problem)

    Some things inside:

Bixenon headlights with AFS, ACC - but not working - got broken heated cover so its disabled for now, rear parking sensors (missing front ones but looks cleaner that way i think), rain sensor, heated mirrors and rear glass, S-line heated electric and memory seats, light package out and inside
347mm front brakes as standard and R19 255/35 oem, MMI 3g navi with bt. 2 zone climate control etc...

I was like - well i dont need a sunroof or bose audio nor electric trunk so this was it for me.

Chains were done with previous owner, Also some other parts here and there.

    Original photos from the Ad

Then new front bearings SKF. Complete with everything needed. Left one was OEM from factory after all those kms. And right one was replaced one time i guess

One of the suspension arms was replaced too. OThers were still OEM

Had to do another oil change already and i did not had a time to replace broken front bumper last year.

Ate discs started to squeek after 20ks so we had to do a little service on them. Clean everything, pads out, ceramic paste, little sandblasting and they were good as new again.

Found a Thule Bike carrier in discount. Now only in need of rails. Thule or Yakima? Whispbars look so good on these.

Last thing from start of this year. My new wheels came after long wait.

R19 10J ET42 i think. Needed only tyres for them to test fit. And then ceramic coating

Replaced every bulb in the interiour for LEDS - some of them were already LEDs but i wanted to hav eeverything new.

Found a problem with this one. As LED bulb was too big for me to fit in there. And i broke one while doing so. Ordered another type.

C6 with almost 351k on the clock still as my daily. Regular service after 15k

Mann and Mahle Filters, with BG set. One of them is engine flush, another is oil condicioner and last one is into diesel.
Every oil in the car replaced. Engine, differencials front and rear.

Ordered original ZF kit to replace oil in the transmission also.

And then. This happened? Remember when i wrote on the first post. That the front bumper was little cracked? Yea, so after i took it out i found out that it was not a OEM bumper but cheap replacement. Thats why it happened.

Started a long journey to find good OEM bumper without cracks and big dents in colour.

Also broke foglights, one of the lines for headlights washers and some plastics around.

Okay so. Everything i posted before this reply was from the past.

Update for the last month is like so:
Found oem non S line facelifted Bumper in my colour. Ordered everything i need to fit and install it
Transmission service will be done in this or next month
Ordered Foliatec set of paints for calipers

And then sad info. My steering rack said bye bye. Fluids everywhere. Probably one of the seals let go. So i got a refurbished one. Installed it already. With everything needed and fluid in it flushed for new one also.

ordered ST coilovers and waiting on that also. With replacement of coilovers i will be doing rear bearings.

Will post some pictures later on.

    Thanks for reading

So only to add some pictures i found in my phone.

These are from when i started to polish some of the lighter scratches on Bumper. Use polisher with red menzerna pad and menzerna heavy compound.
Ofc bumper will be painted once i am done with repairs / service of the whole car. - did this mistake with Passat as i focused mainly on appearance and not on the technical side of the car

    So before

After 20 mins of work on it. With same results did other side. Bottom parts are kinda scratched and not worth to polish

Brake / wheel fitment is on point i think. Even if noone will see this :D

And lastly my wheels with tyres on. Right now waiting for ceramic coating in my garage.

I went with Nexen Tyre and OEM size 255/35 r19 - in Europe you cannot downsize or put on the wheels what you what. We have to have everything in oem spec OR you have to have a certificate for it. Its on 10J so i guess thats stretched by one size? or by some pages its stretch 0. Look nice and not bulky like othe brands out there.

Last thing is to order red or yellow center caps for them as those that came originally with the wheels are kinda boring.

Great write up. Can't wait to see some nice pictures with those wheels on. I really like the colour too.

What LEDs did you get? Did you have any flickering issues? This is something I'd like to do as well

No issues in the interiour with LEDs. Issues are only on outside lights. Apart from rear plate lights. They were LED from factory? I guess. And for the LEDs. I ordered set from web. I dont remember now where it was.

So today was the day. Finally for my bumper replacement.

Pulled old broken bumper our. Took everything out of it.

Preparation for install into new one.

One of headlight washer pumps broken. So i replaced it with a new one.

    Almost everything in new bumper.

    Washed and cleaned

So new plastics around fog lights. New fog lights. LEDs i ordered are showing error so went and installed halogen oem ones. Everything fits perfectly. Bumper is not perfect because it has couple of scratches here and there. BUT for now it will do. Also installing washer covers is pain in the *ss.

Now waiting for coilovers and fitting a wheels.

We had a free friday to sunday. So parked car in the garage and lifted whole front on jackstands. Painted front Brakes with this Foliatec kit from DE. And for those asking why painting by hand. Just look into my wheels. You can barely see brakes under those wheels but i feel like yellow is gonna pop nonetheless. GF bought some smaller brushes for details. And she rly had fun with this. Fun day

Its not rly good looking on photo. But in real pain is shiny and you would not been able to tell me it has been painted with brush unless you can see calliper from behind. Rly good paint. Easy to work with.

Also getting all the needed hardware and stuff to install coilovers is painfull :D

So we started with coilovers in the rear. As i will have to do at least one or two degrees of camber. And guys over at shop seen what my old oem rusted out bolts look like. They told me that i need new bolts or its a no go LOL.

    So here we go.

Everything taken out of the car apart from rear subframe.

Then two bolts in the brake carrier said nope. We had to drill, use heat, hammer and everything in our manpower to take them out. After 3 hours it was all done and we could start playing with bushes. In the lower rear arms.

    Everything sandblasted

Antirust and then BLAAACK. Brakes need repaint again after all that hammering LOL
New rear bearings. Arms, bushes. Antirollball bushes etc. Everything you can think of in the rear we replaced or refurbished. Also everybolt replaced for OEM ones. No they were not cheap. Almost 10€per one bolt. And then 5€ for nut and then some for washers.
Also copper paste in threads everywhere is must!

Broke some bolts on exhaust hangars and then some more :D

ST coils installed. Everything fits perfectly. Same ride hight on both sides. They look rly good.

Wheels ceramic coated. Centrecaps installed. Cant wait to put them on.

Ride height for now. UNtill we sort out front. Yes you can read. I have stuff to do and only to do rears took us whole weekend because of those bolts and old bushes that we had to drill out and use torch. Busy week ahead hopefully next weekend fronts and then i can setup height. Install engine shield and sort out camber plus fit wheels properly.

    Thats it for now.

Well everything sorted through my friend who works at his shop.

Oem part numbers found in ETKA i believe

    https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a6.../5/505-505005/

Also, if you can get all bolts oem quality. They are harder. And replace all of them. Plus do rear subframe also. You need to disassemble rear diff but just do it that way. Seen some shop drop whole subframe with suspension and everything in. And do all on the floor. We decided not to do that but i think its better to do it. We only dropped subframe to acess some bolts on upper rear arms.

So we did fronts also. New arms. Every bold with copper paste and arms with ceramic spray.

Skidplate fits like a glove. Sturdy and nice. Every bolt to exact location. Perfectly engineered.

I cant help myself. Took it out today. Tomorrow setting up geometry on it. Its all over the place right now.

Almost another 15k on the clock of my C6.

After replacing lot of stuff on the rear we had to retighten couple bolts. And replaced last 2 on brake callipers. As before we could not find oem bolts

And after whole summer season on new suspension and wheels i can say its a blast to drive. Comfortable, not too stiff but stiffer than oem sport suspension (not sline)

We took couple pictures. Lots of IKEA trips and others. Lastly new set of tyres and oem 18 inch wheels. Sold off my old 19inch winter set because with winters like we have here in Slovakia its not comfortable at all to drive on 255/35 tyre. So now 18 inch Nexen Windguard 245/40

At the end of year or early January i plan to do big oil service again with trans oil this time also. And check some things around engine. Seen some bad hoses and oil leaks to deal with.

Next year maybe we can deal with visual side of things. Front and rear splitters / diffusers. Exhaust tips and rock chips everywhere.

    Nice!

Yeah, for some reason this platform is really uncomfortable with 19" wheels. Even on summer wheels.
I am considering reverting to 18" for summer as well.

I just feel how the suspension is struggling with large wheels, although I have everything new suspension wise.

Well i had B5 Passat Before on 19s and then 18s. But stretched tyre on both. BUt oem for Passat is 16inch and in Audi it feels more comfortable.18s are too small for summer. At least for me. Like the look of 19s. 20s are on the otherhands too big and also i cant run 20s because my car was not equiped with them from factory. Thats problem here in europe. Same story with stretch tyres. Because i cannot run different tyre apart from factory size.

I had enough of my 19" that thing is pulling left and right, harsh over bad road, just plain uncomfortable on bad roads (which are like everywhere where I am)

I am literally excited to put on my winter set these days. And its not like im downsizing dramatically, going from 255/35/19 do o 245/40/18
Maybe if I had stock soft suspension, 19" wouldnt be so bad, but with my BIlstein B8 and Eibach, its bad.

This is good to hear. I'll keep in mind whenever I have to do suspension refresh.

Though tire quality might also play a factor. I went from TOYO Proxes Sport to continental ExtremeContact 6 or wtvr the newer one is... Night and day difference in comfort and same size

Before snow we were able to get some pictures done with my GF and Friend of mine. Show some love to Girlfriends Micra. What a car!

This was last time i was able to put some liquid wax on the car. Still waiting for one or two warmer days. So i can clean it properly and wax it for winter. I mean yes we had snow yesterday but that first snow melts right away always.

Got some poorbois wax prepared in my garage.

Yearly check up. At 367 116kms

    Ordering some parts.
Lower control arms - With these every arm is now new.
MOTUL Oil for engine and Original ZF oil kit for gearbox
Then some filters and BG kit - consists of oil flush, oil additive and diesel additive

Gearbox oil in total was 11Litres. 7 From ZF kit and 4 additional bought separate. We pumped new oil right into lines before coil cooler. White rubber lines so we can see state of old vs new. After 1litre pumped into oil cooler we could see that oil coming out is green - as new. Also magnets and old filter were so filthy. Gearbox pan screws were like 3 different sizes. Someone had a lot of fun with them probably. Good thing that in ZF kit you have new bolts for pan.

Gearbox shifts like new again. Cannot be more happy. One more thing checked for this car.

Sadly we found some coolant leaks. So next time front has to go and we need to replace thermostat and water pump.
Also front subframe bushings are probably long gone. I can hear squeaking noise when turning in garage. With all arms replaced its last point of failure?
Lastly Turbo is leaking oil on that side. Apart from those leaks engine is clean.

    Until Next time (:

After long winter i had to check on some things that we found out while replacing suspension parts and coilovers last year.

Cleaned up brakes and found some rust in wheelwells. Cleaned up everything, rust converter (no i dont have ice blaster / sand blaster sadly) then some paint.

Got hands on replacement subframe. Did similiar job. Also ordered strongflex bushes for it. Waiting on my mechanic now.
