HVAC issues...

My ac button will not stay illuminated once pressed although the hvac will blow air but only hot air. I assume I messed something up i tried running the potentiometer & flap alignment, compressor run-in/cooling check, and address lookup/initiation for flap motors. I searched and could not find a solution I did replace the ac pressure switch (G395) just to see if that was it but I don't want to throw anymore parts at it. and totally unrelated and this issue was before but I do not get power to either of the black fuse panels on the passenger or drivers side. Also I do know there is a fault for a convertible top not sure why and how to get rid of it.

I wouldn't spend another dime until you have the refrigerant charge checked...Impossible to diag an AC issue with low refrigerant.

As RPM mentions above, get the system recharged and checked for proper vaccum/pressure. When the refrigerant pressure is not within the parameters, the compressor will not engage as indicated by not being able to illuminate the AC button. The pressure switch just tells the module to run the compressor or not and since you know it's not the switch, there must be an issue with the refrigerant charge.
However, you have a ton of weird electrical faults. Has the battery gone flat lately? How old is it? I would recharge it, reset faults and re-check after a short drive.

Yes, I totally agree I plan to have the pressure checked next at first I thought maybe it was low and was going to service it myself with one of those cans from the autoparts store. When I connected the can the pressure gauge on it read really high (in the red). I thought I read that if it is to high it can cause issues also so I will have it checked asap beofre I do anything else.

So i went and had it checked and it was 1/2lb low but they said seeing that the car sat for almost 5yrs before I got it that he was impressed. So it is all charged up now I still believe I messed up a setting in VCDS when I was attempting to run checks on the ac system. When I press the ac button it does not stay illuminated.

Well got it serviced yesterday and of course it still was acting up. I got home yesterday and was looking over the ac components and noticed it was wet around the pressure sensor so I gave it a half a turn or so and the threaded portion on the condenser broke and all the freon leaked out so FML...It has been one step forward and two steps back with this car. Also alot of those faults have been on there since I got it back up and running and did my first scan. It did sit for almost 5yrs and of course the battery died but I installed a brand new one.

replace with only OE sensor .

i was gonna comment about the freon sitting for 5 years... someone needs to tell your tech cars should be able to last there entire lives and not have the freon leak out. if its coming out there is a leak. Days of R-12 barrier hoses are long gone.
