I need you guys to tell me what I am missing here.
I sold the 22' M3 xDrive because i had numerous people tell me the RS6 is the absolute best car, best daily, best everything. So far, I haven't felt that way and it's really bumming me out. So I am asking you guys to please tell me what I am missing.
Understanding the M3 is 1000 pounds lighter, and that that rs6 is +81HP, lets talk about performance in each car's sport modes.

The M3:
M Button: In M1 (full sport settings, minus the race shift points) the car is an absolute rocketship. The revs stay much higher, in sport mode until it senses you're just cruising at the same speed for at least 10 seconds then shifts up. Hit M1 if you are behind someone slow on the freeway and it downshifts so you're at like 4500 rpm and ready to punch it and before you can blink you're going 95mph. The M sport buttons and settings far eclipse what the RS has by a mile and then some.

The petal / turbo lag: In the M, it's like direct drive. In sport mode, if you touch gas, the car jumps forward and wants to run. It's immediate and a joy when you want to punch it. Zero petal lag and no noticeable turbo lag in sport, since it's keeping the rpms high. The rev match down shifts are also way cool.

The RS6:
RS Button: Like 3 settings? In the M, it takes the car from a honda civic, to a lambo (Or whatever fast car) and in the RS6 the button takes it from a honda civic, to a honda civic with a fake hood and side vents. (Maybe that's harsh) Noticeable, but not like night and day completely change the car. The shift points are a little more sporty, but it just doesn't get close to the m.

The petal / turbo lag: Here's where I'm absolutely confused. When i step on the gas, there's at least a half second of nothing before the car starts to move. I don't understand what's happening here. Is this just petal lag? Am I experiencing turbo lag? It really doesn't feel like turbo lag. But from a roll out, the car gets up and goes really slow. Almost like it's trying to say, "Hey you didnt really mean to hit the kickdown right?" then it downshifts and starts to boogie. Don't get me wrong, once it's in it's powerband it freaking boogies. But when am I really ever going to be 4 seconds deep in the floor? Maybe at the drag strip. But not if im trying to pass someone going slow and shoot the gap. (I typically drive like a grandma, but im just saying)

Exhaust: It has the sport exhaust option in the RS6 and it sounds good. But not really loud. The M3 (although I know they piped in some sounds using the speakers) was louder, and just felt like part of the driving experience more so than the RS6.

The point of this post is not to bash the rs6, I love the car. It's such a better family car than my M3 with carbon buckets, and frozen paint. But what am I missing here? Is there a setting I don't know about? Please help me fall in love with this car. I didn't really feel like I needed to do any mods to the M3 to love it, just get in and drive. And the first thing I want to do to the RS6 is exhaust, maybe intake and the crazy in me was contemplating a tune or piggyback system just so it felt quicker.

The M3 felt like I was going to get a ticket every time I drove it because of how badly the car wanted to move. The Audi feels like id have to try to get a ticket. Maybe this is a good thing?

Thank you in advance!

M3
