    Spacer Recommendation

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Good morning everyone,

    Happy Saturday!

I’m looking for wheel spacer recommendations for my 2018 RS3 with stock wheels.

It has the mag ride and I’ll be installing Eibach pro lowering springs in the next few days. I’ll be keeping the stock wheels (as honestly I love the way they look) but would like to get more of a flushed look.

Im looking to get some brand/sizing recommendations.

    Thank you!!

10mm-15mm depending on how low you go with suspension. I personally ran 11mm STM on mine as I didn't want poke. Anything more than 11mm you will see some poke. EMD sells a flush 10mm kit also.

If you post in the 8v wheel thread, it may already be at the first post

    Thank you!

I’ll go with the 10mm spacers.

One more dumb question. What’s the max size tire (width) can I run on the stock rims. I’m honestly just looking for visual improvements but don’t want it an an expense of functionality.

    Thank you

I started with 10 in front, then went to 12. 15mm in rear. 034 lowering springs, camber plates with magride and stock wheels.

Many folks are running 265 tires with no issues. 275 is possible with minor modifications.

What is the offset of these aftermarket wheels? You shouldn’t need any spacers if you bought the correct wheel.

Stock wheels came in 2 different setups, 4-19x8’s et42 or 2-19x8.5et46 front and 2-19x8et42 rear. The max recommended tire size for a 8” inch wide wheel is a 245, and for the 8.5” inch wide wheel 255. Lots of guys on here are running 245/35 on all 4 corners
Stage 1 more than you RS3

+42. They are BBS CI-Rs. I'm currently running a similar spec wheel VMR 801s but switching to the BBS in a few weeks. The fitment is fine but personally, I like a really aggressive stance. I believe I will need at least a 3mm spacer in the front to clear the CCBs but I could be wrong.

    Spacer Recommendation

Does anyone have pics they can share of their RS3 lowered with spacers on stock wheels? I know this may be a tough ask since the stock wheels are generally not a fan favorite . I personally do like them. I found a couple on google but wanted to see some member setups.

    Thank you!!

Word of warning, many national tire shops won’t touch your car if they have large spacers. I’d double check with your tire shop of choice first to make sure you’re not buying yourself an upkeep headache where you have to haul in loose wheels to get new tires and balanced

Agreed! I have a Jeep Wrangler lifted with nice Spyder Trax wheel spacers and just tried taking to a shop 2 weeks ago to have my back brakes looked at. They wouldn't even pull it into the shop because it has spacers.

    Spacer Recommendation

Thank you both for the input! Yeah I can totally see that being a problem and I would need to remove them for any type of maintenance. From the shop’s perspective I’m sure they had cases where they reinstalled them and now they’re on the hook for anything related to them. Honestly I’m a little on the fence of even putting them on because in my old M3 I had minor vibration at higher speeds after installation.
