Hey gang Hope everybody is well. Was just curious as I'm approaching 114,000 miles How long does your Q5 3.0 alternator and battery last?
I tested both with a multimeter and both seem to be fine. Battery just a hint low. When I bought the truck at 29,000 mi they had put in a new battery.
I'm asking because I remember on both my Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T and my Audi A4 1.8T The alternators seemed to get tired right around 115,000 I had to replace both of them.
    TIA

Well my past Audi 2012 A4 2.0t the Alternator died at around 145k miles. My Q5 is at 156K miles now on original alternator.

My MY09 CAEB's alternator is still going at 15 years and 260k miles. But the alternator pulley came apart somewhere around 180k, so replaced that. Those OADs are nearly half the price of a whole alternator. I don't see posts of people having problems with the voltage regulators on the Bosch 2.0T alternators. But seen more than a few threads of problems with the VRs on the Valeos on the 3.0T engines. Is it a brushes issue, or circuit issue, no idea.

My battery was an AGM, and lasted 12 years before I replaced it, finally realizing it wasn't the battery but corroded cabling that was my voltage issue. It's still in the garage as a fallback, but since I already had a new one in the car, I left it in the car. If the battery is only a wet flood, or you only do short drives, don't expect "persistent" life like an AGM that gets sufficiently recharged every drive out. And I don't live in the frigid north.
