Post Seeking advice for 2011 A5 2.0 exhaust

Recently I got a CTS Turbo downpipe and I have a stock midpipe and muffler. I am now looking to replace those two (midpipe and muffler) for a more performance and nicer sounding setup, issue is if I want to get a complete system those are typically catback and I would rather not ditch my brand new downpipe. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Catback is the way to go. I spent a lot of time and money trying to eliminate drone by going the custom route. However, since you don't want to ditch the new downpipe then I would suggest large oval shaped mufflers either from magnaflow or the chambered mufflers from flowmaster. Make sure to check the sound chart if you try flowmaster and get the muffler that's closer to stock and works for 4 cylinder engines.

The stock muffler may not need to be changed as well. The center resonator is the biggest reason for the lack of aggressive sound. If you want a simple solution, try and replace the center resonator with a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and keep your stock muffler. If you have any drone, you can eliminate it via a simple j pipe or helmholtz resonator. Please update us on what you plan to do!

I’m gonna be taking it to a performance shop I like on Tuesday, and we’ll come up with a plan there. I’ll keep the advice in mind Ganta, thanks.
