06 S4 convertible or cabriolet 4.2l manual trans
Got the car with a misfire and driverside VVT code. Had 8 new red coil packs installed (I'm guessing the cheap Amazon ones). Put in new plugs, replaced the driverside VVT with the straight plug (I believe stock is a 90 degree connector end). Only mention this because it was said that this VVT is the same as mine w/different connector just for a different Audi engine (don't remember which).
Ran much better after the above, then developed the misfire again, car stumbling at lower rpms. Plugs were fouled, replaced them, replaced a few could with stock ones I had from an A4. Since then no major issues with stumbling at low rpms.
Apparently the 4.2 v8 has 350hp but it does not feel that way. Cold start idle rpms are 1000 until warmed up, rpms drop to normal and then the car will sound like it's cam loping for a 5 secs and then return to normal. Not sure if relevant but sounds like it. No misfire codes.
If it matters there are several codes through VCDS and a snap on tablet I used, for various comfort related/satellite/GPS. My heated seats work when they want. Found a k line wire bringing down communication so disconnect that k line (not sure what module it goes to yet).
