    Parts Interchange Question...!

    Hi -

Is there a simple way to find out which parts interchange between different years? Here's why - I've got a project 2011 B8 A4 and a running 2011 Quattro that both need a few parts. Both have the 2.0 CAEB motor.

Time is of the essence here (!) so let me ask a probably dumb question that I could find answers for IF I had the time (but don't):

A guy out here is just about to junk a fairly complete 2017 2.0 A4 Quattro and offered to let me go scavenge the thing first - but only tomorrow! I know its a B9, not a B8, but do some parts still interchange? How about the cylinder heads? Because the project 2011 A4's cylinder head has a bunch of bent valves and god knows what else wrong with it. Just digging through the basic info available through Audi's website gives one part number for cylinder heads for the 2011s, and it lists 3 different cylinder head part numbers for the 2017. None of them are the same, of course. And all of the cylinder heads have different fitment years, with fitment year overlap in only one case, and even that isn't conclusive. Is there a relatively simple way to figure out if there are any or some parts of the cylinder heads that might interchange between these different years?

Is there a simple way to do this?

Tried to send PM back, but says I can't send you one.

Gist was the 2017 A4 is a type 8W (B9) with the CYMC Gen3 evo engine. 2011 A4 is a type 8K (B8) with the CAEB Gen2 engine. Almost no overlap in parts between the engines or vehicles.
