B8.5 call quality-- please help

hi guys-- i know this has been discussed many times but can't seem to find my specific problem.

I've got a 2013, with the B&O system. When i get a call, i have to turn it all the way up but its not "clear"-- it sounds muffled. I have to turn it down to make their voices clearer, but then sometimes its too soft to hear over the road noise.

I can't be the only one who experiences this-- is there an MMI setting i can look at to adjust? I have a long road trip for work tomorrow and will be using the bluetooth a lot. Thanks!

I haven't noticed this in our '14 A4Q with MMI3G+ -- I assume your Prestige trim has MMI3G+.

What's the status of the MMI software version ? Is it updated to the last release: HN+_US_AU3G_K0942_6 ? What phone/device are you pairing ?

To be honest, I can't say whether the MFSW call volume thumb dial controls local audio gain only or the Bluetooth call audio on the phone -- I just haven't noticed this.

Maybe an experiment: Do you have a Bluetooth headset ? Set the call audio gain/volume to a reasonable level using the headset, then pair with the MMI and note difference (if any). When you adjust the in-call volume with the MFSW, does the phone audio settings change too ? --g

You need to adjust the Bluetooth sound output on the phone, then in the MMI, plus you can adjust the sensitivity of the handsfree mic. No issues with low sound on calls. Only issue is that the handsfree is a bit old and not that good for the recipient. Also have B&O system.
