Bleeding ATF portion of sport differential before changing fluid?

I was watching the FCP euro tutorial on changing the fluid in the sport diff and came across an interesting comment. It basically said that the ATF portion of the differential should be bled through Vag Com before being filled otherwise you risk under filling the diff and could get sport dif faults. Does anyone have any info on this?

just changed my rear sport diff fluids last week. Did the FCP method. Then I went to a local empty parking lot and did some hard figure 8's. Came back home, up on all four's again and added (approx.... Hard to tell exactly as I had some spillage) 150 ml to the ATF side. All in all I had about 200ml left in the 850ml oem bottle.

FWIW: Prior to the figure 8's, I jacked up only the left rear corner trying to get the equivalent amount of fluid that I drained out (got a bit more in than using the FCP method only). The ATF side would overflow before I could get all the fluid in. Only after the figure 8's was I able to get all the fluid in (and then some) when car was back up level on all four's. I could never figure out how to use VCDS (if at all possible) to prime the ATF side pump.
