Strong gas smell in car after recall

Just had the fuel sender and electronic module recalls completed on my S6 and the interior of the car absolutely reeks of gasoline. Is this normal for this repair?

I just got my RS6 back and didn’t notice a thing.

Same didnt notice a thing on my RS7.

I just had the fuel sender recall (and gateway control module recall) done last week on my 2021 RS7. Somewhere online, I did previously read about another person who had the fuel sender recall done and his car smelled strongly of gasoline in the interior afterward. Thus, I specifically addressed that with the service advisor before I had the recall done and he said it won’t be a problem. And it wasn’t. I’m sure that your smell will dissipate soon.

So now I am smelling fuel on the outside of the car when parked in the garage for a short bit especially with the warn temps. Didnt noticed it for the past 2 weeks since I picked it up... It does not smell at all inside. Will take it to car wash tmw to see if I can get it cleaned up well on the outside and no persistent smell.
