Hello guys.. so... I got a4 b8 tfsi 1.8 118kw first gen 2008.. next week im going to clean intake valve and replace injectors.. i havnt done before injector replacement.. do i need to code new injectors with vcds after replacement? About a month ago in garage a mechanic replaced one injector because it was leaking fuel into cylinder.. and i dont know what kind of brand new injector has been installed.. do all injectors have to be the same brand? Thank u in advance.

No, there's no basic settings or such for replacing injectors. That's a TDI thing, where the injectors include pressure sensors, and have codes for calibration, etc.

All the injectors should be the same, yes. There might be different brands for third-party aftermarket; whichever you use, use the same for all four. But the OEM is Bosch, and is the only one I would use.

    For the 1.8T CAB or CDH engines, it's Audi p/n 06H 906 036 Q and Bosch p/n 0 261 500 160 (might also be seen as 0 261 500 161). (remove the spaces in the p/n when google searching them)

One more question is it possible to check injector part code or brand on vcds?

No, the FSI injectors have no communication level interface to them. Just power and ground. You're thinking TDI stuff.

If they're original, they're going to be Bosch, there's no question about that.

Bosch rolled their part numbers for the injectors from time to time, for whatever reason. Audi simply matched that rolling.

    Audi 06H906036 E > G > P > S > AB > AE

AE seems to be Bosch p/n 0261500621, aka Bosch catalog code 62855.

Bosch shut down their web site where all the technical catalog was hosted, so now there's zero useful information about Bosch parts on the Internet, at least from Bosch. Now there's just the joke of a site boschautoparts.com. It doesn't even show a fuel injector for the B8.0 CAEB on that auto parts site, anymore. Bosch certainly never advertised any reason for the updates over time, but reliability has to be at least something they were chasing. From an output specifications perspective, they are all "equal". The injectors for the flex fuel CPM engines are a different line of revisions.

In this instance, the specifications of the injectors are probably under control of VAG, not that they couldn't be tested and determined. The flow rate for a lot of off the shelf generic Bosch injectors such as for motorsport was listed on some page I saw.
