    Without downpipes its still a stage 1 car. It would not be recommended to run the stage 2 file.

    [rant] A certain company recently joined the Audi mix and really broke our standardized stage 1/2/3 terminology that has been developed over decades. Now our tuning options are starting to look like BMW's and there's no longer a universal understanding of what stage is what anymore. [/rant]

    Yea, what JHM said. A hot or rich fueled tune meant for downpipes can ruin OEM cats pretty quicly. Seems like 15 yrs ago Audi started using a lower quality Catalytic converter. Sometimes they burn out and come out in chunks, sometimes the chunks can fuse and cause a big restriction that can give you other serious issues upstream.

    I'd HIGHLY recommend getting the downpipe. I put JHMs in after just running new RS7R turbos and a heat exchanger for a couple weeks. It's a noticeable improvement and it's obvious how much stock was constricting things. The sound improvement is a nice plus.

    till this day we have yet to receive an RS5 header core that hasn't begun failing

    We retain all OEM safety parameters as well as implement our own, so no, I don't think it would be of any more risk than on a low mileage car. As long as the car is properly maintained you shouldn't have any issues.

    Drive the car until empty and fill up with 93 and then flash the 93 file

    The Stage 3 RS software is for an S6/S7/A8 equipped with RS7 style turbos. It is tailored to our RS7-Rs but will work with stock RS7 turbos or other brand. At minimum for that tune we require downpipes. (https://jhmotorsports.com/jhm-ecu-an...7-r-turbo.html)

    Sold our a7 but retained some of the parts over to the s7, especially the JHM heat exchanger.

    After 3 months since the last post, wanted to see if there’s any else that had hop onto the JHM tune and can share their experience. Thanks

    1) does the tune rid the 4 cylinder eco mode?
    2) if it has crackle, option to not have that?
    3) in the videos, tcu shift point at 7200 but the clip show it shifting much earlier?
    4) does the tune require adaptation?
    5) does D mode still behave like stock, while all the fun resides in Sport?

    No problem!

    1) It does not, but if you want it removed, we can likely do that for you.
    2) There isn't a crackle option yet. When there is, it will be optional.
    3) The TCU is deciding optimal shift points. In manual mode you can rev it out.
    4) You should have to do any manual adaptations, but after flashing it will start adapting right away.
    5) While still enhanced, D mode is tamer than S.

    99% positive it will bounce off rev-limiter and hit fuel cut until you shift in manual mode. It does this on OEM software on my RS7, and my RS5, and it still did it with the JHM tune on the RS5.

    Jake... what happened to the performance pictures in the rs7 and S8 ecu and tcu page?... the images of the Dragy quartermiles images are gone or missing on the 91 and 93 fuel slip times.

    I've been running their stage 3 RS+ setup on my S6 for nearly a year. Truly a great kit for the price. Power was a huge step up for stage 3 and the tunes are well dialed in. I wouldn't hesitate to grab it again over the others that are often advertised here.

    Jake.. getting ready to purchase a newer car.. debating between the D4 S8 and 2018+ S4.

    The S8 are really affordable now.. and would like to get in one.. i dont mind the upkeep maintenance but does the rs7/s8 engine tranny has the same issues like the S6/7?... oil strainer/turbo and DSG?

    The S8 and RS7 have the ZF8 transmission. The S6/7 have the DL501....two different setups.

    same thing with the high compression and low compression engines between the two

    The RS7P and the S8+ are different breeds than the S6/7

    you will still need to follow the recommended basic maintenance intervals for the engine/trans based on the setup.

    In addition to what Carpenter said, the RS7/S8 I haven't seen have the same turbo failure as the S6/S7 outside of oil starvation from a clogged screen. Our Oil screen relocation kit works on the S8 as well.

    ZF8 is a lot more reliable than the DL501 though

    Thinking about going Stage 2 with HFC downpipes. Do I need to run O2 spacers to avoid a CEL?
