Loss power on highway, limped home. Gas started dripping down by rear passenger side, weird sounds when I removed gas cap. Multiple misfires. Replaced plugs, 2 were fouled. Ran engine, misfires gone, no gas leaking. Power restored. Any idea why gas would leak? Someone mentioned fuel pump suction causing gas to spill from charcoal canister. Misfires just a coincidence?

Rear passenger side is the charcoal canister up under the fender wheel liner...

Often an issue from over filling gas tank...

    Gas leak

Thanks, I actually filled up a few days before this happened. Guess misfires just a coincidence.

I had gas leak on the rear right. It was caused by mice chewing the plastic cover of the in-tank fuel pump. I replaced the whole pump at the time. 3 months later same thing happened to my 8P A3.
