I am surprised this RS3 got listed, it was bought back from me by Audi after one issue after the next; two years ago! It took them two whole years to sort out(?) and list up for sale. It had major electrical/safety issues, but also through multiple gearboxes etc. Most lemon'y lemon out there... PM me if you want info

I had looked at this one, but the red stitching is a no-go for me. Here is what was posted on website and think it was listed as a branded title.

["Please note, Audi USA reacquired this vehicle due to a customer complaint concerning "Check Engine Light On". Audi fully resolved this matter under warranty by simply Recoded ABS Module and Performed Required Adaptation. The Vehicle Inspected, Found to Meets Manufacturer Specifications. In the interest of customer satisfaction, Audi USA agreed to repurchase the vehicle. Deluxe Auto Sales have all the documentation from Audi USA on file."]

I am guessing the dealership hadn't/isn't fully aware of the true cause for the buyback (I feel like them consciously misrepresenting it is way to large of a liability, so leaning towards benefit of doubt). I can dig through all my files, and the maybe 20? different visits to dealers all for different issues, but if my memory serves correctly, ABS issue was not one. I do remember potentially ABS fuse going out and being replaced, but that was a 2 minute fix and far from the problems this car had. At any given time the car would have 20+ faults spread out over a majority of control units. If it was listed for 38k, maybe I wouldn't talk someone out of it; but at 48k you'd be jumping into a deep hole.

I agree, i wasnt considering it, just had checked it out online. its insane that the dealerships are treating the branded title as if nothing is wrong with it.

This is completely normal for dealers, in my experience. They won't lie about the status, but they don't advertise it either. The problem is "fixed", after all!

It's up to the buyer to do their research. That's one reason why I basically write off any car from a dealer that doesn't provide a carfax/autocheck on every vehicle they sell.

Exactly! And this is a used car lot, not an Audi dealer selling this. They would have just bought this at the auction where Audi would have sold it as a lemon law buy back.

The issue I have with that is Audi "fixed" the car so many times. I once went I sht you not a block and a half after waiting months for them to solve mech and trans issues, pretty much the entirety of the DQ500 systems and itself was replaced, for the car to drop all even gears, and then catastrophically destroy itself. its funny when you stop at a stop sign, and then have to sit there looking at "stop" for the next hours as you await yet again another tow truck and knowing you'd once again be stuck for months of making payments, with no car, not even a loaner.

To be clear - I'm not /defending/ that the seller isn't disclosing the lemon. That's simply not cool, regardless of whether it's legal or common.
