I had no plans on even looking for one of these cars, but you know how it goes when you’re just browsing for fun. I saw it and messaged the guy just to find out more and somehow ended up making a deal sigh unseen. Then I hopped on a plane got to Houston and then drove 9hrs back home. Everything that could’ve gone wrong did but it all worked out perfectly at the end.I’m going to post more pictures on the a8 forum when it’s daytime

I’m mostly excited about working and driving the 4.2 v8. It can already tell its a blast, even with the slight miss it has.

My mother drove a D2 for a little while alongside an E38 740iL. An interesting little real-world comparison. We all felt that the BMW was possibly a little comfier for trips, but somehow you always felt like a major toolbag driving the thing around. Like everyone is judging you wherever you go (we live in a low-key rural area, so a 7 series really sticks out). The D2 blended in *way* better and was also much more practical for quattro season, obviously.

In the end, the D2 is still on the road racking up miles, and the E38 died a terrible electrical system death that, without question, completely totaled it. LOL
