Wheel Hub and Bolt Thread is Toast!

Hit a pot hole, got a flat. I wasn't too far from home so my wife (what a trooper) grabbed one of my summer wheels and brought it over. Road side service showed up promptly to help swap the wheel. Long story short, they destroyed the bolts and the threads on the hub as they forgot to put the spacer back on (10mm). They managed to get 4 out of the 5 bolts back on tight enough (~100lb ft torque) for me to limp home, but upon further inspection, confirmed that the threads on the front hub are toast. Getting it flat bedded to the dealer tomorrow. Also got details from Audi roadside on how to file a claim for the repair costs.

Question: some quick research shows that this should be a straightforward job by replacing the wheel hub (part no 8W0407613) and this part is readily available and shared by multiple Audi/VW platforms?

P.S. Audi roadside was great. Very prompt, followed up after the incident, and arranged a flatbed for the next day.

I’d be prepared for them to deny your claim as you are running spacers and perhaps extended lugs. Neither of which are OE. Just thinking about how Audi typically operates.

Ditto on that one. Unless you specifically told them to be careful about the spacers I wouldn't expect a tow truck guy to notice the difference.
If you get lucky they will pay for it but I think you'll be stuck with at least part of the cost if not all of it.

These are great points, and my expectation is I will have to eat the cost. The tow guy was very apologetic, gave me his card, and asked me to follow up if there are damages. He seemed like a stand up guy but i'm skeptical that the towing company owner would be as accommodating.

Car is being flat bedded to the dealer. Any takers on cost estimate? $500 (wheel hub+bearing) + $500 for labor = $1k is my best guess.

I think it will be more in case you need an alignment after replacing the hub
