    Exhaust is killing my neighbors!!!

I recently purchased a dead S4, engine locked up. Replaced engine, gutted the cats (car came with AWE track exhaust catback), and I installed the Scorpion resonated downpipes from ECS. The noise the car makes is pretty crazy loud, rattles a lot of the plastic inside the car, and is just obnoxious around 2000 rpms. I'm searching for alternatives but looking for others who have a similar setup or people with the AWE touring exhaust with gutted cats to input their experience

the awe track exhaust plus gutted cats are your problem. sell it and get something else like the touring or add your own vibrant ultraquiets in a couple points

or put a pair of ultraquiets in the rear tailpipe sections and a pair of super hp2's in the downpipe to midpipe section and be chilling. https://www.amazon.com/Flowmaster-12...a-569149363667

Put a pair of Vibrant ultra quiet resonators in your exhaust, although the car will still be really loud without cats + AWE track exhaust.

add in generic 200-300 cell cats right after the gutted pipes, those will help more than just resonators alone.

Agreed. Then swap your AWE track rear section for the touring setup to give you rear mufflers.

I have the AWE touring exhaust with everything stock upstream. The sound is smooth and beautiful, but on the mild side. I've since ordered the AWE non-res downpipes and will install soon, hoping for a throatier sound. Since you already have a quality/expensive AWE track exhaust, you might consider reverse-engineering it. Put the cats back on and enjoy the exhaust-free cabin air, add RESONATED downpipes, and keep your track exhaust. That's the flip-flopped version of what I'm trying to do (instead resonated mufflers + non-res DP's + cats). I think both sound good personally...in fact I might like the track w/res DP's better, but I'm committed now! Let us know what you decide! Here's a vid I found. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5gOAJxJKQU

Yeah you definetly don’t want to do non res downpipes with the track exhaust, your neighbors will still not like you and you probably won’t like the drone, I personally don’t mind since my car isn’t a daily.

We have long tube headers, JHM baffled and catted downpipes, and AWE Track converted to Touring on our S5. Similar setup on the SQ5, but Red Star test pipes in lieu of long tubes and AWE Touring from the get go. Sound is loud, but not obnoxious. There's zero drone on the SQ5 and very slight drone on the S5. But it's very tolerable. Way better than the drone on our TTRS with AWE Track.
