    Technical question regarding 2008 A5 3.2 6 speed Keyfob/IMMO tune

I bought a 2008 A5 3.2 6 speed off copart for a new project. One of the many issues is it didn't have a keyfob. I'm looking into options for replacing the keyfob....currently the only option is tow to a dealer and have them pull up the VIN and program it. It's $760 for the keyfob and programming + having a roll back drop it off and bring it back (I'm guessing another 100-200) I live 3 blocks from the AUDI/Porsche Dealership

    I'm looking for other options?
I don't know enough about the IMMO systems on the B8 chasssis to know if this will work:

There are alot of FOB/Ignition switches on ebay for under $100. There are a few factory ECU/ignition switch/FOB combos for around $700-800. Would replacing these 3 matched items allow the car to be started or at least cranked?
Another thought I had was tuning. If there was a tune with the IMMO disabled and then pairing it with a ebay FOB/ignition switch would that work?

If any of the above option would at least let me attempt to start the car I have generic blank unprogrammed FOBs I could have cut for the doors.

ANY HELP/THOUGHTS would be most appreciated.

Edit: Just found this: 2009 A5 3.2 MT ECU FOB Ignition Switch and steering lock. You think this will work???????

I think people have been able to send off the relevant parts and have the immobilizer adaptation performed remotely and then reinstall the parts.
It should be possible to perform the task remotely by someone with sufficient capability if you have the necessary cable/software and they remote in.
None of that is as simple as finding a buddy with a car trailer.

The immobilizer master is the J393 BCM2 in the right rear. So changing any of the immobilizer involved components will mean the J393 is unhappy. So that kit has the parts, but you still have to adapt the set to your present J393 to enable the vehicle.

If I could find the matched BCM with the above set do you think that would work? Or are there to many differences between individual cars? The reason I ask is the above kit is $400 and the BCM if they have it would be around $100.

    Here's a set for $600 ecu, bcm, fob/ignition switch, and steering lock? 2009 a5 3.2 6 speed

If it's a preprogrammed matched set, maybe. You'll have lots of component protection DTCs, and you might want to make sure you can do the coding of the old unit configs to the new units (ie, have VCDS, have the long coding strings from the old units, etc). But component protection should stop the vehicle from fundamentally working.

OK, I'm gonna bite the bullet and get the new fob/key from the dealer
