I'm looking into possibly placing an order on this CMST hood. Does anyone have any experience with these/how is the fit and construction?

I've seen their hood on a RS3 and RS7, wasn't perfect. Looked neat from like 10ft away.

Yeah, the window isn't doing it any favors. Remove the window and it probably wouldn't be too bad.

I also don't understand the vents on all these aftermarket hoods. They look cool I guess, but most don't really seem that functional to me or at least not in a way I would expect.

I don't think they would be so bad if they were actually functional. From the pictures it looks like they are blocked off.

I just couldn’t do it. One of my favorite things about the RS5 is the stock hood. I think the Audi engineers really got it right and it gives the car such a menacing look.

Wouldn't go the future design route. I have it, fitment is okay. It does not allow for any mounting of the stock adjustment pieces and makes contact at points. It does look good and vents a ton of heat. But aside from that, I wouldn't do it again.

I know it's not for everyone but the window is sort of what drew me to the CMST hood.

The problem with this hood is that it is overdone with the window and the 3 vents. I think a design without the window and just the two side vents would look good. There is a fine line between more aggressive styling and going overboard and making it look almost like a caricature.

Yes, many designers would do themselves a favor by subscribing to the KISS principle.
