Ok, as stated in title this is for people like me who have questions about how to maintain, replace or fix their CVT transmissions. We all know we can sell the car and buy a manual but that is not for this thread please.
I hope others can answer my questions and ask their own so when future CVT owners search they can find info more easily.
Questions:
1. What is the exact make of the CVT used in B8.5s?
2. How much more torque and power make this CVT unreliable? Is stage 1 too much? Is JB4 tune reliable on CVT?
3.Any documented success swapping a bad CVT for another transmission? Manual? Dual clutch auto?
4. Best place to price cost of replacing CVT with a low mile CVT? (I seem to only find high mile used CVTs which seem like a poor solution)
5. How much more reliable is the b8.5 CVT then previous models ?
