    Should I buy this S4?

Off the bat, I'd like to apologize because I know this forum is riddled with hundreds of people asking this same question. I've spent the better part of a day reading through posts but every car is different and would like input from people with experience in the B6 S4 platform. I've only been around Toyota's for the majority of my life, and stepping into the Audi world is something I've wanted to do for a while (as scary as it is) and I think I've found a good one. Here's the post link:

Thanks again for any/ all input, I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers !

** Just realized I posted this in the B5 sub and not the B6. Going to reach out to admin to delete this post b/c I'm not sure how. Sorry :/

Yeah I'd probably buy it. Sounds like he knows his stuff pretty well unless all of that work was done at a shop. Take a HEX-V2 with you and scan for codes, ask for proof of timing chain work. Start dead cold and listen for chain rattle.

I'd try to work on the price a little. I just bought one in similar condition, slightly fewer miles for less than $5k and it was listed for over $7.

I don't see anywhere in his list of maintenance that the timing chains were done, so yes definitely listen for rattle on startup but I'd be prepared to at some point plan on this service.

Yeah, I asked and he said the timing chain hasn’t been serviced yet. Now to find an Indie shop that knows what they’re doing in my area.

Good to know! Also was planning on taking it to the Audi dealer in his area for a leak down/ compression test.

A general pre-purchase inspection at a reputable shop would be a good idea.

Also just an FYI there's a forum member who will travel to you and do your chains for $2000, seems like a good deal to me if you were paying to have it done. He's View61 on here.
