A7 Comp got hit yesterday. Ideas from brain trust?

Lady ran a red light and hit me yesterday. Nobody hurt. I figure it's totaled. I loved the A7 Competition (have spine problems and need sport seats), and it had a very nice Focal/JL stereo. I'm retired, don't really drive fast anymore and want a reliable long-term car.

Ideas or anybody out there who has something with a killer stereo and contemplating selling?

Happy to read that you were not hurt in the accident! And, sorry to see such a great car likely “totaled”.

The A6 has a competition model with the same sport seats as the A7. S6 has the same seats. Then, there’s always the RS!!!

If you’ve got strong preferences on seats, you may want to consider looking for those along with a replacement A7. As to sound system, it may be possible to get your speakers out of the car before insurance settles out your claim? Or, perhaps you can “demand” more to account for the upgrades and have same installed in a new ride.

I've heard of people having luck DM'ing Audi's social media (twitter, FB, etc) for info like this. You should be able to look into autotrader's database for comp/prestige package cars sold to get an idea of what yours is worth.
Best of luck- dealing with insurance, even when you're not at fault- can be a pain in the butt.

Insurance will not consider "Competition Prestige" rare even if we all do.
It is an A7 an they will pay out based on that. I am sorry.

Not true. Find comparable cars that are either for sale or have been sold recently. Do an autotrader or cars.con search country-wide.
They should replace your car for a similar model.
I had this issue with a keep cherokee limited that was stolen. It was actually very rare and I got the insurance co to give me 5600 instead of 1600.
You def need to work at it with them and it's a pain but don't back down.

There is a 2016 a7 prestige in the classifieds. Guy wants a strong 40k for it, but that could tip the scales in your favor if you show the insurance co that ad.

Don’t forget about sales tax, document fees, license registration, upgrades to audio system, etc… every penny will matter. Also, the sooner the settle the sooner they can stop paying for a rental car!!

As others have noted, looking for comparable vehicles that are listed should help somewhat with the value of the car!

Most important is that you’re not injured. But, you deserve to be compensated to the point where it’s as though the accident didn’t happen!

My suggestion rare or not insurances don't care. they look at what it cost new, what they see the market value as and what they are willing to pay you out. Like said above they don't see it as rare like maybe we do BUT make sure when they give you value it's a good market value so do your research and see what's on the market and see what they are selling for. Get your window sticker from a dealer if you don't have one already.... best you can do

depending on how the other person's limits are, you may have to go through your own insurance... here in OK state minimum is 25k for property and that will not fully replace your vehicle. Like the others have said insurance will pay what is reasonable to replace your vehicle but you need to have some hard facts to back it up. if you cant find some comparable listings on autotrader or fb marketplace, try getting an evaluation from your local audi dealer on what they would sell your vehicle for non-damaged.

Waiting on confirmation that it is a Total Loss. Sent them numerous Comps (pun intended). Both the other driver and I are State Farm, my agent is a great guy I've used for nearly forty years. I sent them all receipts for stereo ($8,600.00), so we'll see what they offer. Of course, I'm very thankful nobody was injured. I just want them to pay for a comparable vehicle and that phat sound. Plan on buying the beauty from Vermont listed here on AZine.

Update:
My car was declared a Total Loss and insurance gave me a fairly reasonable offer. I suspect we'll be fighting over the stereo for a few days but apparently they want the case closed. Thanks to all!

Good for you Larry. Remind them that rental while you shop costs money every day. As to the stereo, you paid for it, it's destroyed with the car, you're ethically owed money for that. Push hard!! I hope you get close enough to being whole and make it work with a new ride soon.

Given that the car from Vermont has a front license plate and we don't here in progressive Georgia, anybody need a front plate filler panel and have a plateless one to trade? Or even sell? BTW, I spent quite a bit of time pondering what, if anything I might consider as an alternative to the A7 and came up with nothin'

Thanks for input. So to update you folks. So quite a bit of hassle with appraisal, including hiring my own appraiser (Allen's Automotive in Atlanta) who got another 4K. Negotiated with a supervisor and was able to meet my installer at COPART and get about half of my stereo stuff. Bought the 2018 A7 Competition from Jason in Vermont as posted on AZ. Stereo gets installed next week. Happy Camper.

Glad it turned out well for you. Scary situation to be blindsided like that.
But that's 2 less silver A7 competitions out there! My odds of finding one are getting worse!
