HVAC box creaking/pops/squeeks

This maybe a longshot but giving it a try anyway. My 23 is making a lot of pops/creaks/squeeks inside the dash that I have traced down to the heater box after taking everything out except the dashboard and the instrument cluster. This is most pronounced during first start up as the car warms up, but also happens over bumps. I have tried stuffing several packages of window ac foam seals under, behind and above the box, however, the noises are coming back after a month or so.

Has anyone tackled this? Any ideas? Can't be the only one experiencing this as my 21 A5 did the exact same thing..

And you didnt take it to the dealership?

Im all for fixing it myself, but a car you just bought, id surely take it to the dealership

For finding the source of the noise? Nah, they would never get that deep and don't trust them to reassemble the car without introducing more noises. Having said that, now that I know what the issue is, I may end up taking it if I can't figure out a solution.
