    Any 8Y S3 JB4 users?

See title. I find it amazing there isn't a single mention of anyone running this tune on an 8Y S3! Or a MK8 Golf R for that matter.

Curious about this too....I have seen that Burger has had it for a while on their site but I am figuring the supply of S3s and Rs thus far has been pretty limited so the sample size of JB4 takers is pretty small.

I ran a JB4 for ~3 years on my PFL S3 and loved it! Stock drivability with an extra 40-60HP! I would not hesitate to run one again.

From what I have seen...the JB4 requires the driver to work with the setup....either DIY or have a shop install.

Then you need the app on your phone. Many simply want the APR like ECU flash tune which requires zero user interaction.

Those who get it seem to be still under warranty and want a setup that unplugs so the car can be taken to the dealership.

Allot of people have the Cobb setup. Which is like a more advanced Jb4.

IMO ya need the TCU tuned too which really compliments any engine tunes.

A good Haldex tune like United Motor Sports cant hurt either.

    JB4 is only engine.

I'd love to get EQT maps if the Cobb is made available for the 8Y, but that seems a while away. After speaking with George@BMS, Map 2 requires no intervention and is good for maybe 40 whp gains without upsetting the system. Trying to push it a bit too hard is where the ECU gets very unhappy. Piggybacks are quite limited in general on the EA888 EVO4 it seems. Both Racingline and JB4 simply can't put out similar power to flash tunes; which was not the case on older platforms such as the old BMW N54/N55. Piggybacks made as much power as the best flash tunes, depending on platform.

I think a nice 40 whp bump with the ability to remove for warranty purposes is good enough for me, at least until I'm ready to void my powertrain warranty with a TCU/flash tune. I know the fella I bought this JB4 from dynoed 345 to the wheels with the JB4 on Map 2, but is getting 393 with Unitronic S1+. I'm still breaking in my new S3 so I'm in no real hurry to install it. (300 more miles to go...)
