    B6 4.2l Valve Guide Specs?

    I'm in the process of tearing my 2005 S4 B6 4.2l down and doing some housekeeping.

    Does anyone have the spec's for original valve guides? And what the OE number would be?

    I purchased a set (40) of guides from FCP Euro, with a part number of 058103415. I was able to cross reference these to earlier 4.2l engines, but not my 2005 S4's engine.

    AMTuned lists their set of valve guides as:

    Bronze Valve Guides:
    ID = .2362" / OD = .4355" / Length = 1.415"
    calculated metric:
    ID = 5.99948mm OD=11.0617mm Length=35.941mm

    I can cross reference the 058103415 to several valve guides with identical to within 100th of a mm. https://www.kmotorshop.com/en/articl...midt-058103415 has the best cross reference.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks! Russ

    Another question:

    What diameter valve guide reamer should I use once I install the new valve guides?

    Guide ID is 6mm/.2362" Should I ream to .236 / 6mm? Slightly larger? Slightly smaller?

    Give Alex (AMTuned) a call or email. He knows a ton and will most likely have a quick answer for you
    I'm still listening for that rattle!
    If it rattles, it's because I baby it.

    Thanks Zollie. I'll do that. Didn't buy the guides from him, so was reluctant to bug him.

    I am considering returning the guides and seals and getting Alex's set. Not much more expensive and I'd know it was right.

    Didn't see Alex's set before buying from FCP Euro. It took awhile for me to figure out the AMTuned site.
