Doing test drive with airbag off?

Hi I’ve been having issues installing some new paddles with the wire not staying in place, and I’ve been taking the whole steering wheel apart to diagnose it each time.

My question is, can I just drive it down the block to make sure the paddles are working before assembling everything back? I attached a photo to show what it looks like, just curious if the car would freak out or if it can just be a code that I’ll clear after I put everything back together. Thanks! IMG_8027.jpg

Should be fine. You'll have a DTC you'll need to clear as the airbag control module won't be happy "the resistance is too high" while the airbag is disconnected. But it's not going to stop the car from working.

Nice! So nothing “permanent” after reinstalling the airbag right? Wanted to make sure the car wouldn’t think it got into an accident or something lol.

    No, just DTCs to clear.
