    B5 S4 ProjectB5 FMIC Kit Install Questions

Currently installing a single turbo kit. Purchased a Project B5 FMIC kit which should arrive shortly. I wanted to ask if anyone out there installed this kit and how much trimming was needed for the front bumper to fit properly?

    Kit:

This is the look I'm hoping for...

I still want to retain the stock side grilles. I'm not sure if I want to keep the center grille, remove it or remove both it and the center plastic piece for a wider opening. Opinions welcome too.

    Thanks in advance!

I bought a bumper that was used with a FMIC (not sure on brand) and he had the aluminum support cut out which frees up a lot of room. Probably will need some minor trimming to the plastic after but there was much done to mine. From what I’ve seen the piping is more of the issue than the core for fitment wise, very curious to see how you make out with yours.

Just a heads up if you were to remove the center piece in the grill you’d have to do body work/paint afterwards so just keep that in mind.

Thanks for the feedback. I think attempting to replicate the silver B5 above will be my best bet. These pumpers are getting harder to come by and price is rising. I think the less I have to remove, the better. I see what you mean now about removing the plastic part in the center grille. I hope someone out there who installed this kit will chime in.

I'd like to pick up a new filler plate with no holes in it too. When I complete fitment with this FMIC kit and grab a new filler plate I'll plan to have the bumper repainted. Up close you can tell it needs some love lol.

Another thought is getting that 3M guard over the bumper after paint. I think that stuff is similar in concept to a cell phone screen protector. Thinking way ahead though.
