    B9 SQ5 Airbox mod?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi Everyone,

I recently bought a 2020 SQ5 and am running the 034 Stage 1 tune on it. Thinking about upgrading to Stage but that requires a full intake upgrade. On my B8.5 S5, I was able to circumvent that with a simple airbox mod. Has anyone done something like that on their B9 SQ5?

Buy a RocEuro intake if you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on an intake. Or wait for O34 and IE to release their plastic intakes.

I drilled out the cold side and added a BMC filter while I wait for the 034 S34 to be released.

What made you use a BMC filter instead of K&N?

Past experience, side by side I feel it's a better product.

For me it was also the most recommended one when I was looking for a replacement stock filter for my S5. For the price I think it works great!

I never heard about BMC before but I did a bunch of research and it really does seem to be a better filter with it's single mold design. Going to replace the K&N one and get the BMC. The K&N one is going into my wife's Q5... ;)

Did you keep the oem ribbon hose or did you upgrade that as well with a straight silicone hose? I have been trying to find a silicone hose that will fit the the oem airbox and the 034 turbo inlet pipe that I have installed.

I'm up against this now too. Got 034 super duper inlet and everything needed for hybrid turbo, but no way to mate to modified airbox. Waiting for S34 intake.

Same here. I am going to wait on 034 to release their new Stage 3 tune which won't require a downpipe before I go Stage 3. 034 is exploring that as an option but not guaranteed to happen and no ETA. :-(

Only hose I’ve seen comes with the revo stock box setup. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-revo-par...41m200400~rvo/ I’m using KN with factory hose and CTS inlet for now.
