034 Motorsports website Availability bug

Just a heads up for anyone ordering parts from 034 motorsports. They have an ongoing issue with many items as showing "in stock" that are not actually in stock. In this case I ordered a bi-pipe set and a phenolic spacer kit which were both marked as "in stock." After receiving shipment notifications on all of my other stuff from the same orders these 2 showed as backorder. Come to find out the bi-pipe set has an ETA of late February. You can see how that could be a slight issue for some people as the website still says "in stock" as I type this.

So just be aware if you are on some type of time crunch that just because an item says "in stock" on their website it doesn't actually mean it's in stock anywhere. I've been told by 2 representatives now that there's a website bug they are trying to work out, but in the last week it's still not fixed. I'm not an IT expert or a website admin but I don't think this is the kind of fix that takes over a week to rectify.

tldr; if you need to order something from 034 reach out first and ask if it's actually in stock before placing your order.

I would certainly hope not. But I wouldn't be surprised judging by the nonchalant responses I've received from 2 reps.

They seem to have updated the description of the bi-pipe set I ordered. After receiving a message back from a rep and deleting my cookies the note appeared above the product description. The item still appears as "in stock" however so there's still a bug overall. Maybe they are adding notations to variations of a product such as color in the description area as a simple fix in the meantime?

I might be wrong but I seem to remember ordering stuff from their website in the past ("In Stock") and waiting forever because it was indeed backordered or something. In recent years, for anything I need somewhat urgently, I've always made a point to email and ask if they have it in stock (despite saying In Stock online).

We often shop by item availability and vendors know that.

I think it's because they "drop ship" a lot of items from other warehouses and they don't regularly check to confirm if it's actually in stock. In some worse cases, they have limited QTY runs for items (like the TBB) so then you have to wait weeks to months until they have enough orders to do another run for fulfillment + some extras.

This is true. My 3 item order came in 3 different boxes on 3 different dates. I guess if the product exists somewhere it's technically in stock. That seems to be their logic.
