    Water inside the tail gate

So it was raining like crazy here for a few weeks and today when I went to pen the tailgate on my S6 I notices that the inside was damp and water came out of the rear inner light when the gate was lifted. Both my inner lights have water but I was wondering if there are any instructions on how to take apart the tailgate and see if it has clogged drains. I am buying new lights since they do have water in them.

You mean trunk lid ? I would not be in a hurry to get new tail light housings. This rain event sounds extreme, so just wait until things dry out and
remove and let dry. I suspect you will not have this problem again.

I had water in my trunk lid a few years ago. (edited to clarify water was in my trunk lid, not in my trunk compartment area.
Realized I was missing these small black grommets/plugs. These might be like stops for when you close the trunk. 1 or 2 of them had broken off. You could hear the back side of the plug rolling around in the trunk lid at times too. At this point (4-5 years I thing) whatever was in the deck lid is wedged into some corner.

Looking at the parts diagram now I think it is 4H0-827-589-B

I had to replace the inner taillights too after this.

I went through this a month ago. Ended up replacing the foam seals on the inner taillights. Problem solved.

Do you happen to have the instructions for it?

I don't have instructions, but it will be self explanatory once you remove the light. Remove the old seal from the light and clean the light surface from any remaining adhesive. Heating it up a little with a blow dryer will make it come off easier.

Also, not sure if you have a pre-facelift (2015 and older), or a facelift model (2016 and up), so I looked up both part numbers on ETKA for you.

    Pre-facelift:

    4G5945191 - Left
    4G5945192 - Right

    Facelift:

    4G5945191A - Left
    4G5945192A - Right
