    BHF and BAS frankenengine?

New to Audi. I bought a used 2005 allroad quattro with a 4.2L v8 and automatic transmission. I am seeking advice on whether or not a repair is possible at this point, or if I should sell/ try to part out the vehicle.

What I know: At around 150k miles the CEL began blinking and the vehicle misfired. I found a broken valve and two bent valves on the intake side of cylinder 2 as well as a hole in the piston. The cylinder wall appeared to have light scoring and the head was noticeably damaged.
I am suspecting that the timing system is to blame for the cylinder to valve contact.

I would like to rebuild this engine or use it for parts in rebuilding a used one. I am struggling to find a used BAS so I am hoping to use a BHF engine and sub out pieces as necessary. Based on what I have learned in these forums the BAS engine on my allroad is very similar to the BHF engine in the B6 S4 except for a few differences. Firstly though I want to confirm that the BHF will mount to my transmission. I believe it is the 01v 5 Speed automatic aka ZF 5hp 19FLA.

The next issue is fuel rail and intake manifold. Can I just swap these over from the BAS engine? are the injectors the same? Will the intake manifold bolt on?

Then its the camshaft. I read these have different dimensions in the two engines. Can I swap the BAS camshafts into the BHF heads? Or would the allroad be able to run with the BHF camshafts?

I am also curious about any wiring or vacuum/coolant/oil differences. Can I swap sensors etc around to overcome this?

If these aren't large hurtles to overcome I would like to go this route, another possibility is using the bottom end of the BHF and going through the BAS to replace the bad piston using BHF parts. Is this possible? Can I then use the BHF cylinder heads on the BAS block?

A lot of questions I know. I spent many hours reading forum post and couldn't quite come up with answers for this specific scenario. I am really just looking for the best way to return this to a somewhat stock, functioning vehicle or cut my losses if there's no chance. Any insight is greatly appreciated.
