You can also use the b6 A4 (to confirm thats 'A' and '4') but not b7 a4, as the b6 a4 and b7 rs4 door blades are the same part numbers and the same identical parts.

What evidence do you have to support this claim that "The B7 RS4 door blade is unique to the B7 RS4" ? ...and definitely not the exact same identical part as the b6 a4 (B-six A-four)?

Genuinely curious how you know this or have confirmed this, as you seem fairly certain.

the B6 a4 is the same part number but the door blade itself is slightly different. I know because I made the same assumption and bough the B6 a4 one. Years later when I did get around to getting it painted and installed I finally noticed the slight difference in depth. The B6 a4 is slightly shallower then the Rs4

Thanks for the info. Thats interesting...

right after posting i went out to both cars and removed front drivers side (LHD) on each car and compared them, and fitted the b6 a4 blade to the rs4 to see how it fit... and it sits where it looks like it should and looks the same. I have another pair of b6 a4 blades as a spare also and fit that one to the rs4 also and again, looks like a proper fit... ie does not appear to be a different thickness. Can also confirm that all 3 door blades are the exact same part number 8E0 853 959 (front left door blade - driv. side in LHD).

I took a bunch of photos if anyone would like to see etc.

did you buy the b6 a4 blade brand new or used?

I bought it from ECs back in 2013.

I attached some pictures. The passenger side front doesn't match the sweep/contour of the rear. It's a slight difference between the two

Ahh.. i was just checking the other thread to compare your door blade to the other mismatched photo posted and it was you that posted that photo too!

Ok, so, this is a photo i just took (what i was talking about in the previous post #9 about physically comparing/test-fitting/interchanging all of my blades etc to the rs4) and all of the blades are identical, in all aspects physically, front and back, absolutely no differences in any way between the 3, and when on the car look identical and all of the lines match & sit flush/aligned etc.

The black and silver ones are from B6 a4s, the black one from my other car (removed maybe 10min before taking these photos), and the silver one i removed myself from another b6 a4 so as to have a full spare set, so can atest to those being 100% from a b6 a4 also.

I can definitely see a substantial enough difference in that front door blade in your photo compared to your rear one that it definitely doesnt match/look right.

In all honesty, it looks as if ECS may have sent you a 'b7' a4 door blade, as they are definitely slightly different to the b6 a4/b7 rs4.

could you take a photo of the part number on the rear of that blade and post... would love to have a definitive answer to all of this as all of my testing has 100% shown they (b6 a4 blades) are identical to b7 rs4 blades, have the same part numbers both on the blades themselves and in ETKA (OEM/dealer parts database), and fit perfectly on the rs4. You can see all 3 of my blades for yourself... i can post additional photos if you would like more comparison shots and part numbers, rears of the blades etc... all 3 identical.

post deleted...I stand corrected. I got that information from a "Prominent" member in the RS4 community when I was on the search to replace mine in 2019. I had heard that the B6 A4 door blade was the same but assured by this person that it did not fit. I ordered every door blade from VW, Audi, SEAT and Skoda that was available for any car that shared the same chassis. Because the B6 A4 blades were discontinued and due to the information I was given, I never pursued checking the B6 A4 blade.

The B7 A4 is the closest match but does not seal.
