    Schwaben Foxwell OBD Scanner Hell

So I grabbed a Schwaben/Foxwell VAG scanner from Pelican's 40% off sale thinking I could reset the Inspection Due flag on our 2018 SQ5 and I've been in binary coding hell ever since.

How in the world do you reset the Inspection flag? Bueller....Bueller..........It's as intuitive as trying to read a woman's mind with twice the frustration. Who at Foxwell came up with the menus? There's NOTHING intuitive and I also couldn't update it via the Foxwell website (says I need to contact their administrator...).

Anybody had success resetting Inspection Due? I have zero desire to learn any VAG coding so maybe it's overkill. But it should at least accomplish the basics. Appreciate the help.

Played with a Foxwell NT-644 Pro trying to help my uncle with a car of his. Having used VCDS previously, I had nothing but negative opinion of trying to use that handheld miniscreen junk. That and Foxwell support basically just went cold shoulder when they couldn't explain why it couldn't scan the vehicle correctly.

VCDS, OBDeleven, Carista, or even Vag Com Pro if you really want to spend some money, I'd probably use one of the more commonly associated with VAG cars products. Autel should be good too, if you need the extra cost for a multi-make solution.

Thanks for the info. I wouldn't put a Foxwell product in my toolbox if you gave it to me. They haven't responded to the trouble tickets and I'd hate to be a customer service agent for them...probably going to go the OBDeleven though I don't appreciate their subscription business model. Sell me the damned thing and be done with me!

    Hi Smac770,

I saw your post about the Foxwell NT-644 Pro, and I was wondering if you still have access to that unit?

I have the same tool, but unfortunately the SD card has failed, and as the device is no longer supported by Foxwell, I’m unable to recover it or use the software.

If you still have the SD card intact, would you consider making a copy (image) of it and sharing it with me? It would be a huge help, as official support is completely gone.

    Thanks a lot in advance

AZ really annoying with this expired token crap dropping my post text. Not retyping all that. It's 400 miles away. So maybe. Did it include the USB SD card reader in the box? But looks like it's 10GB? My dropbox only does 2GB.

If you do buy an obdeleven and buy direct from them they are quite a bit cheaper. Paid 90 us shipped for obdeleven and 200 credits. It came from Lithuania so took about a week and a half.
