    Bad Control Module?

I am working on a friends 2006 A6 sedan and have run across a strange electrical issue. When I first start and drive the car, the left rear turn signal works fine. After a short while it quits. If I shut off the car and let it rest for a half hour or so, the turn signal will work again, but only for a short time. My searching on the problem brought up the subject of a power control module that may be the culprit. Where would this be located?

So I also have this problem even with the LED lights on my 2010. I think the issue is corroded light connector or a bad ground because the lights still function but the dash says that they are "blown."
