I've got to replace my 2.0t in my B7 that has the tiptronic automatic. I found a good used engine that I may be picking up tomorrow but the guy doesn't know if it came from a cvt or tiptronic car. He also doesn't know if it was a quattro. I'd like to avoid having to get that bushing made up for the conversion if it was a cvt so I was wondering if there's anyway I can tell when I look at the engine tomorrow what tranny it's set up for? Maybe some sort of engine number that would tell or can I measure something to tell? Thanks.

Just look at the end of the crank. Manual/cvt are same, so you need tiptronic only. There's pics in that thread I posted on your last thread..
