    Advice on Selling 2018 TTRS

    Hello,

I am going to sell my 2018 glacier white TTRS. I am the only owner and it has never been tracked, launched, or driven in bad weather. It has a little over 30,000 miles and I have just used it on weekends and occasionally to go to work. It is the only car I have ever changed any of the stock parts to aftermarket and it was done by the same Audi technician who is the only person to ever service the car. My MSS springs were done by Induktion Motorsports and that is the only time other than my Audi technician to work on the car. It has never been tuned and only has the aftermarket bolt on’s listed along with all of the unused to lightly used parts that were switched in the beginning. Everything is there to switch it back to stock if wanted. I am going back to a four door sedan/larger car that will allow me greater flexibility. The car has been flawless. I have always just traded in my cars at the dealership and I am going to list this one for private sale also. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to post (forum, autotrader, etc.), and how to account for all of the stock and aftermarket parts that come with it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The car is in phenomenal condition and I also had all the service performed as needed with extra oil changes every 5000 miles with the same Audi tech using the liquimoly oil change kit via ECS tuning. I think it is one of the cleanest examples of a 2018 TTRS out there. My email address is also [email protected] and is another way to reach me. I have all of the service records and receipts from the work done on the car.

Generally speaking the mods and upgrades you do to a car do little to increase value outside of the enthusiast market. Even then you have to count on the buyer wanting the mods you did and not different ones, etc. In addition they do not add value dollar for dollar, as a good rule of thumb you can add up the MSRP of all the parts and tack on 40-50% of that to the asking and expect to haggle down. Enthusiasts often do their own work (or plan to, say they would have, etc lol) too so labor paid is never recouped. Same thing goes for returning it to stock, you will not recoup those costs (you'll still only get pennies on the dollar selling the parts and you paid labor twice to get it) so unless someone is there with cash in hand and demanding it be stock for the sale I would not mess with that, sell as is for what the market will support.

Autotrader, Cargurus, etc all good sites just need to see what they cost and give you and compare. Could get a quote from CarMax and Carvana (there was a guy on Vortex who sold his MK6 Golf R to Carvana for MK7 money LOL) just to get an idea of wholesale as an option and definitely see what else is out there on the market now to guide your pricing.

Sounds like an extremely well maintained car, with well thought out modifications. And the fact it hasn't been tuned should be a plus. With such low miles, and close to being out of warranty, makes for no worries about voiding the warranty with subsequently adding a tune. Will be a great plug 'n play car for someone - just a a 4" turbo inlet and a flex fuel tune and you are ready to go. If I didn't already have a '21TT RS, I would definitely be calling you. Look at Autotrader, CarGurus, BAT (Bring a Trailer), and Cars & Bids. Carmax and the local dealers buying cars won't appreciate what you have and will give you far less than what you can get. Good luck with sale
