It's a ZF-6HP28AF with a transmisison code of probably LMJ. The transmission code should be listed on the sticker in the spare tire well and pasted on the inside of the Mx handbook.

service designation: type 0B6 code xxx
    Audi designation: AL651-6Q
    ZF designation: 6HP28AF
ZF part number: 1084 032 0xx / 1084 030 0yy (xx and yy will differ with the specific transmission complete part number)

The code designates the gearing, final drive ratio, and mechatronics programming combination for a particular application. For the CAUA (S5 4.2L V8), the type 0B6 codes are KWR, LEJ, and LMJ.

    code KWR - Audi part number 0B6 300 035 N (mechatronics 8K0 927 158 B)
    code LEJ - Audi part number 0B6 300 036 A (mechatronics 8K0 927 158 E)
    code LMJ - Audi part number 0B6 300 036 C (see below)

Looks like LMJ initiated Feb '09. It has three different "color codes", additional part number clarification denoting applicability:

    0B6 300 036 C 001 - MY09 (mechatronics 8K0 927 158 E)
    0B6 300 036 C 002 - MY10 (mechatronics 8K0 927 158 H)
    0B6 300 036 C 003 - MY11/MY12 (mechatronics 8K0 927 158 M)

I'd venture KWR was MY08, LEJ was MY09, and then LMJ took over mid MY09 for whatever reason.

The ZF parts list catalog is confusing as to which ZF part numbers match which Audi part numbers as the date ranges excessively overlap.
