B7 convertible - which ones came with Quattro (possible conversion)

    Hi all,

    I've got a 2007 B7 A4 cabrio.
    It's a 2.0tdi and front wheel drive.

I really like the car, but having driven it for a few months I think I'd prefer a Quattro version.

My first question is, does anyone know which engines were available with quattro in the UK? I've seen a brochure which suggests it's only the 3.0tdi, 3.2petrol and the S4 that had quattro as an option. But I'm sure I've seen a 2.0tfsi for sale once and Wikipedia (not the best reference I know) says almost all engines were available with quattro.

I wouldn't really want a V6 petrol due to the chain issue, I would only want either a 2.0tdi or a 2.0tfsi, manual with quattro. Which don't seem to come up that often.

So the other option is to convert. Seen a few threads on this and have an idea what is needed. The most likely donor over here would be a saloon or Avant 2.0tdi quattro which seem relatively common and either damaged or engine problems should be quite cheap.my question on this is regarding things like the prop and fuel tank, are these 100% interchangeable between cabrio and saloon/Avant?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

So to partially answer my own question, as far as I can tell in the UK the engines available were:

    B6: 1.8T, 1.8T quattro, 2.4, 2.5TDI, 3.0, 3.0 quattro
    B7: 1.8T, 2.0T, 2.0TDI, 3.0TDI quattro, 3.2FSI, 3.2FSI quattro

So it doesn't look like a 2.0TFSI or 2.0TDI convertible with quattro was ever available. If anyone in the UK knows otherwise please let me know.

Would also appreciate any info on interchanging fuel tank, exhaust etc between a convertible and a saloon/avant, there are various threads about quattro converting but none seem to answer this question.

    Thanks.
